From the month of July, 2009, an average of 2 to 3 bikes are stolen everyday, in the City.
Most of these are stolen from roadside parking in DB road, Gandhipurm, Tata bad, Bus stands & Town hall especially in busy Town areas and also in outside homes or during night.
It was found in many cases, these vehicles did not have double locking system, old lock, no cover on the vehicle specially during nights.
Some thieves abandon them as soon as fuel tank goes dry, some dismantle them, some sell them at a cheaper price, mortgage them after creating fake documents and many thieves use them to commit crimes again especially for snatching.
